Meet Kerry Salvesen, the Founder and Clinical Lead at Pharos Therapy. Kerry is an Endorsed Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years of experience specialising in the emotional and developmental well-being of children, adolescents, and young adults. Originally from South Africa, Kerry managed her own private practice for 18 years before moving to Australia in late 2021. Since her relocation, she has been actively practicing in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane, including at Grace Lutheran Primary and Grace Lutheran schools since July 2022.
Kerry's extensive background in child psychology is marked by her passion for addressing developmental disorders and providing tailored support to meet the unique needs of each child. She is committed to working closely with parents and caregivers to ensure the best possible outcomes for her young clients. Throughout her career, Kerry has gained experience across a variety of settings, including schools, assessment centres, and therapy clinics. Her dedication to the field is also evident in her enthusiasm for public speaking on topics related to child development and parenting.
Kerry's qualifications include a BSocSc (Hons) and MSocSc in Psychology. She is also a Board Approved Supervisor and is registered with both the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and The Health Profession Council of South Africa.
Kerry is known for her compassionate, personal and evidence-based approach to therapy, helping individuals and their families’ navigate life’s challenges with expertise and care.
